Bisila Bokoko & Pont Global to host a cocktail style Paella Party for Carmencita in New York

NEW YORK: On Wednesday, December 11th at 6:30pm, Bisila Bokoko and Pont Global will host a cocktail style Paella Party for Carmencita at the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE), New York City's largest and most active center for culinary education.

Carmencita is a Spanish Spice and Tea Company created by Jesus Navarro, and its aim is to share its quality flavors with the world. Even though the brand has great quality, the belief that defines it even further, is their honesty that has allowed their customers to know what kind of quality to expect. Carmencita has been around for several generations and they want to share their products with the rest of the world.

The perfect way to usher in the holidays is to bring the warmth of Carmencita to you, through this ‘Paella Party.’ The purpose of the event is to show that making paella is an attainable goal. In Spain, Paella is a more than a simple meal. Originally, it was farmers’ food that they prepared over a wood fire for lunch. It was made with rice and any other ingredient they could find including, tomatoes, onions, snails, and beans. It is traditionally eaten straight from the pan in which it was cooked. This is still a traditional meal that brings people, family and friends together.

As well as focusing on the festivities of Paella making, Carmencita will be holding a raffle with proceeds that will benefit the Bisila Bokoko African Literacy Project (BBALP), a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote literacy among the African people by building well equipped, modern and sustainable libraries in Africa. With $5, anyone can contribute to this cause and get a chance to win a prize.

With the talents of the following people for this festive event:
Chef Paul Vella of Paella Masters
DJ William Gonzalez Castaneda
