The 2013 AFCON Cup is finally here and with only one day to go till the opening game, there is a lot of excitement around this year's tournament including the opening ceremony which takes place ahead of the opening game.
The theme for this year's opening ceremony is 'Celebrate Africa-The beat at Africa's feet' with over 520 performers including gymnasts, singers and dancers to set Soccer City alight with a fusion of traditional and cultural elements celebrating the beauty and diversity of our continent with the beat of the African drum at the heart of every performance.
The creators of this exciting production are well known SA live production company, the VWV group who have also produced both the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 FIFA world cup.
